Call for Artists: 

"Abstraction"

Lina Rincon Art Gallery & Studio encourages all visual artists in Sarasota area to submit their FINEST work for the "Abstraction" exhibition. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held at Lina Rincon art Gallery & Studio following the close of the competition for thirty days.

Lina Rincon Art Gallery & Studio mission is to support professional and emergent local artist.

Artists should submit their best non-representational art related to the "Abstraction" theme. The “Abstraction” theme is considered to be any art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures. 

Entries will be accepted in the categories of Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media, and Sculpture. The subject matter is Abstraction. All works must be the original concept of the artist. All entries can be submitted through the email at Linarinconart@gmail.com.

 

Submission Deadline:
April 1st, 2021 at midnight

Notification for Acceptance Date: 

April 5th, 2021

Take in:
Friday, April 9, 2021

Exhibition Period: 
April 10 through May 10, 2021

The Grand Opening and Reception:

Friday, 30, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Lina Rincon Art Gallery & Studio

Application Fee and Submission Requirements:

The works must have been completed within the last two years. This is a juried exhibition and not all work will be included.

Each artist is limited to 3 images per submission. Size can’t be bigger that 36” x 36” in any direction. There is a $30.00 non-refundable fee, and payment must be made online via PayPal at the time of entry.  Please make sure images are clear and high-quality resolution for publishing.

All submitted works should be ready-to-hang with wire taut at the upper fourth of the frame. Saw hook hanging will not be accepted. All works on 1/2” canvases should be framed. All the works on 1” to 2” canvases need to have neatly painted edges if not framed. If the sculpture is big and heavy and not designed to be displayed on the floor, we encourage the artist to provide a pedestal for display of the artwork. Multi-unit works must be connected so that they can be hung / displayed as a single unit.

The exhibition will be publicized via our website, social media, and press releases. Lina Rincon Art Gallery & Studio reserves the right to use images of accepted work for the purpose of publicity to promote the artist.
